This page explains how TeachyTalk protects your account, your payments and your information — and what you should do to keep your own account secure.

Security on the TeachyTalk platform

1. Encryption and secure connections

  • Every TeachyTalk page and service is served over HTTPS, so data is encrypted in transit between your browser and our servers.
  • The site’s security certificate is renewed and updated automatically, so the secure connection is never interrupted.
  • Before entering anything sensitive, always check the site address (teachytalk.com) and the padlock next to your browser’s address bar.

2. Account security

  • Your password is stored encrypted (hashed); not even TeachyTalk staff can see it.
  • Sign-in sessions expire automatically after a period of inactivity, which limits unauthorised access if you leave your account open on someone else’s device.
  • TeachyTalk will never ask for your password by phone, text message or email. Ignore any such request and report it.

3. Payment security

Your bank card details are not stored by TeachyTalk.

  • All payments go through licensed, officially authorised payment gateways, and card details are entered directly in the gateway’s secure environment.
  • TeachyTalk receives and keeps only the outcome and receipt of the transaction, so your payment history can be traced.
  • When paying, check the address of the gateway page and never enter card details on a suspicious page.

4. Infrastructure and data retention

  • Platform data is held on stable, controlled infrastructure, and server access is limited to authorised people.
  • Data is backed up regularly, so a technical fault will not lose your information or your class history.
  • Systems are monitored continuously and security updates are applied as soon as possible.

5. Security advice for users

To keep your own account secure, follow these points:

  • Choose a strong, unique password and do not reuse it on other sites.
  • Never share your password with anyone — not even a teacher or support.
  • Always sign out after using a public or shared device.
  • Do not trust suspicious links claiming to be from TeachyTalk; always type the site address yourself.

6. Reporting vulnerabilities and security problems

  • If you notice a security weakness, a vulnerability or suspicious behaviour on the platform, please report it as soon as possible through the contact page .
  • Security reports are reviewed as a priority and, where appropriate, the reporter is told the outcome.
  • Please do not publish the details of a vulnerability before it is fixed, so that other users stay protected.
